Delusion vs Reality

Delusion vs Reality

One of the most important messages I teach is deciphering fiction from reality on the spiritual path. One of the major pitfalls is when a spiritual seeker confuses the natural world with the inner world. They think they can levitate, are the messiah, or their visions (hallucinations) are reality. They do not understand that the natural world has a set of laws and limits (physics) different from the Inner Realm or "subjective ecosystem." Within, we can levitate and experience infinite possibilities. Without, we are subject to infinite impossibilities and nature does not magically break its laws.

Why would nature make human primates with enough weight to keep them on the ground via gravity and simultaneously cause them to float above the ground? This makes no sense. Nature gives its creatures wings if it is evolving in that form for its biological purposes. Outside of Anti-Gravity Technology, there is no logical reason a biological human levitates. It appears that UFOs are capable of this but there is no proof that the Guru's of India float around terra firma despite my eagerness to witness such miracles.

The 3 Levels of Spiritual Evolution

Level 1 - Foundation Phase

This is the foundational stage where science and critical thinking are developed. The spiritual seeker must start at the ground floor of existence before delving into the waters of their subjective world. The more intense their spiritual experiences become, the more susceptible they are to confusion and delusion. Physical grounding is imperative. Facts are based on the reality all humans share before and after belief. We are human primates. Evolution is a fact. Our physical lives are grounded in empirical evidence that can be verified through people, places, and things.

Level 2 - Testing Stage

As the seeker progresses on the Inner Path, they delve deeper into synchronicities, psycho-emotional releases, visions, shamanic adventures, unconscious manifestations, etc. These experiences are subjective and fall under technical terms such as hallucinations, trance induction, hypnosis, confirmation bias, and subjective validation. At this level, the seeker must test their experiences with the natural world to distinguish delusion from reality. They must understand that when they are hallucinating, they don't know they are hallucinating. Therefore, they must rigorously question their intuitions and certainties, especially if fueled by goosebumps and synchronicities.

For instance, if the seeker believes they have a twin flame and the object of their hallucination does not agree with their conviction, the seeker has an emotionally fueled certainty validated by magical coincidences, deepening their delusion. Only when "reality" slaps them awake will they experience dream state withdrawal.

Another example on the opposite end of the spectrum is the Lady in Black, who appeared to me when I was a child. I have researched Jungian archetypes and studied how the mind works. I understand how the mind tricks itself with intuition, hallucinations, and hypnosis. I recognize her appearance came from within me projected outward into the physical landscape to communicate unconscious information. I comprehend the archetypical language of the subjective. Thus, I am not deluded and can have spiritual experiences that come with subjective exploration.

Level 3 - Confirmation Stage

Here, the seeker has confirmed subjective revelations, memories, and Gnosis with external evidence. They distinguish between the Inner Realm and the Mortal Realm. They take the time to verify or dispel notions of grandiose self-importance or negation. They compare their "sudden insights" about reality with scientific research to separate speculation from certainty. They are not following a delusional dream. They know they are not gifted with singing, thus, they stop pursuing the fantasy of winning American Idol. They confirm the Gnosis of their ancestral memory about their grandfather, the trauma in past generations, or the Druid roots they felt drawn to all their life. They inspect their lives (self-realization) and function within the factual boundaries of their knowledge and experience. They research memories of childhood abuse and document confessions from family members who kept the truth from them. Mind-controlled victims learn about trauma-based mind control and seek professional help to deprogram.

The Spiritual Awakening Course

I recommend taking my free Spiritual Awakening Course to learn the tools of the spiritual path I developed through my journey. I recommend learning basic science, Critical Thinking, and the Focusing Method. Check out my page on Science Resources for books and videos on the topic. After visiting the Foundation for Critical Thinking I recommend that you do a YouTube search for a basic course on the subject. I am not suggesting that one master the academic scope of critical thinking but to get a basic understanding of "how" to think and question.
